Stock Mismatch
Find why app stock does not match physical stock and decide whether to correct entries or adjust stock.
Step-by-step guide
- 1
Confirm the item and unit
Check that you are reviewing the correct item, variant, and unit. Similar names or unit conversions can make stock appear incorrect.
- 2
Review sales and purchases
Open recent sales, purchases, returns, and purchase returns for that item. Missing or duplicate entries are common reasons for stock differences.
- 3
Check stock reports
Use Stock Summary or Stock Details reports to review item movement over the selected date range. Make sure filters are not hiding entries.
- 4
Correct source entries when possible
If a sale or purchase quantity was entered incorrectly, correct the source entry if editing is available. This keeps reports cleaner than making unrelated adjustments.
- 5
Use stock adjustment carefully
If the source is unknown, use stock adjustment if available and add a clear reason. Contact support if stock still does not update as expected.
Pro Tips
- Do a physical count before correcting high-value stock.
- Avoid using stock adjustment to record normal purchases or sales.
- Use consistent item names and units to reduce confusion.
