Manage Product Variants & Units

Set up product variants (size, colour, weight) and multiple units of measure so your catalog and billing always reflect real-world product complexity.

Step-by-step guide

   Enable variants for a product

   Open a product and toggle on "Has Variants". Select the variant attributes that apply — Size, Colour, Weight, or a custom attribute you define. Each combination of attributes becomes a separate SKU with its own stock level and pricing.

   Add variant combinations

   After enabling variants, tap "Generate Variants" to auto-create all combinations (e.g., Red-Small, Red-Medium, Blue-Small, Blue-Medium). You can then set individual prices and opening stock for each combination without creating separate products.

   Set up multiple units of measure

   For products sold in different units — for example, rice sold per kg, per 5 kg bag, or per 50 kg sack — tap "Add Unit" and define the conversion factor. Once set, you can bill in any unit and the stock is adjusted in the base unit automatically.

   Assign purchase and selling units separately

   You can purchase in one unit and sell in another. For example, buy a carton of 12 bottles and sell per bottle. Enter the purchase unit, the selling unit, and the conversion factor, and Khata Tracker handles the maths every time.

   Use variant selection during billing

   At the point of billing, when you add a variant product, a picker appears showing all available variants with their stock levels. Select the correct variant, and the right price and stock are applied instantly — no manual lookup needed.
