Manage Cash Register & End-of-Day

Open the cash register with an opening float, track cash-in and cash-out throughout the day, and close the register with a full end-of-day summary.

Step-by-step guide

   Open the cash register with an opening float

   At the start of each shift, go to POS > Cash Register > Open Register. Enter the opening cash amount (float) — the cash you place in the drawer before any sales begin. This becomes the baseline for the day's closing reconciliation.

   Record cash-in and cash-out events

   During the day, use Cash In to record cash added to the drawer (e.g., from a safe top-up) and Cash Out to record petty cash withdrawals (e.g., buying supplies). Each entry requires a reason so the register log is complete.

   Monitor live cash position

   The Cash Register screen shows your expected cash balance at any moment — opening float plus all cash sales plus cash-in minus cash-out. Compare this to the physical cash in the drawer whenever you want to spot discrepancies early.

   Close the register at end of day

   Tap "Close Register" when your shift ends. Count the physical cash and enter the amount. Khata Tracker shows you the expected amount versus actual, and highlights any over or short amount so you can investigate immediately.

   Review the end-of-day summary

   The closing summary shows total sales by payment method (Cash, UPI, Card), total refunds, net sales, cash collected, and any discrepancies. You can print this summary as a daily Z-report to keep for your records.
